Weaver & Bomfords Round Up 2022

With Christmas a few days away, and another year ending, we thought we’d get all reflective and look back on what has been a great year at Weaver and Bomfords.

Can’t promise it will be as exciting as the Spotify round up…but keep reading to find out our yearly round-up of our top moments of 2022.

Growing Our Team

We started the year with our new Apprentice Katie Shaffer. It’s the second time we have used the apprenticeship programme  and Katie settled in quickly, passing all her modules and working towards her final exam. As she works towards becoming our first female engineer you’ll see more of her, especially as she’s now passed her driving test.

In June we welcomed Zaki, a year 10 student, who joined us for a week for his work experience. He was great to have around and hopefully gained a great insight into what we do here at Weaver & Bomfords. With the guidance from Paul, our service manager, we are hoping Zaki learnt a lot from his experience.

Next to join the team was Ivo, who quickly fitted in well with the rest of our Service Engineers. His positive attitude and experience made him the perfect fit for us. A firm favourite with our customers and staff alike.

The team will be increasing again in the New Year to help us cope with increased demand so look out for some new faces.

Growing Business

On top of our existing loyal customers, in 2022 we’ve also had the chance to bring new customers on board and take on some great projects. From designing and implementing new office spaces, to setting up multi-site managed print solutions.  Delivering and setting up new machines from Scotland all the way to Milan!

The supply chain has been a challenge for everyone but thanks to the great relationships we have with both suppliers and customers, we’ve managed our way through the great paper shortage, the toner shortage, the device shortage and hope that next year will be easier, especially once our new warehouse is up and running.

We’ve taken part in and supported various campaigns, just to name a few: International Women’s Day; Living Wage Week; Recycle Week; Anti-Bullying Week (Reach Out) – making sure all our local schools had Anti-Bullying Week posters to use.

Have a read of our case study pages to have a more in-depth look at how we’ve helped our customers.

Going Greener

We’ve made a start on improving the energy efficiency of Church House and have installed new double glazing with the help of ID Glazing. Next year will bring more development of the site, including the installation of renewable energy sources, EV chargers available to the local community and a new carbon neutral warehouse.

We’ve removed older, inefficient devices from customers print networks, combining scanners, fax machines, desktop printers and photocopiers into fewer more energy efficient devices, significantly reducing energy consumption and cost. We’ve installed and implemented document solutions to help customers with greener printing, reducing waste and digitising documents. Customers have also made great use of our toner recycling service. This year alone we’ve prevented over fifty boxes of toners from going to landfill.

It’s something we have worked hard to always be and going into 2023 we look forward to doing what we can to reduce our carbon footprint even more. Find out more about our Green Office Printing programme here.
