Sixth Form Refurbishment for Altrincham Grammar School for Boys
Who is the Organisation?
AGSB is a selective grammar school providing an outstanding academic education for boys between the ages of 11 and 18 and is amongst the top performing schools in the country.
What were the project requirements?
The school wanted to refurbish part of the Sixth Form and the Library but having spoken to several suppliers had been unable to realise a design and layout that they felt entirely fitted the bill at a suitable price point. These spaces are required to work hard, with the Sixth Form room a combination of soft seating, fixed workbenches and worktables and the Library needing to play host to exams several times a year.
What was our process?
WB created designs for each room, working within the constraints of the site and the specific functions required. We designed bespoke solutions for built in areas, made recommendations for products that met the school requirements for durability and flexibility and ensured that specialist needs were accommodated, for example making sure appropriate distancing could be maintained for exam candidates. Working closely with the client, our Project Management Team planned an installation schedule around school holidays to minimise disruption, with the first stage of the installation - the Sixth Form - taking place in February half term and the second - the Library - scheduled for the Easter Holidays.
What was our solution?
For the Sixth Form, WB supplied a range of high-quality products from trusted UK-based manufacturers, including bespke workbenches, stacking tables, tilt-top tables and folding exam desks. We have also supplied a range of seating including soft, low-level modern sofas and stackable meeting chairs in a range of colours chosen to match the school colours. This selection was tailored to create a modern, functional room conducive to both learning and relaxation. WB ensured that all products were built to withstand the demands of a busy school environment, meeting the highest standards of durability and quality.
